What is an Adjustable Dripper?
An Adjustable Dripper is a small, plastic irrigation device connected to a lateral drip line that allows users to control the flow of water to individual plants. The dripper can be twisted or adjusted to increase or decrease the water output rate, typically ranging from 0 to 70 liters per hour, depending on the model and pressure conditions.
It is designed with a cap or knob that can be rotated to open or close internal flow channels. The adjustability makes it suitable for crops or plants with different water requirements in the same irrigation zone. This component ensures minimal water wastage, uniform water distribution, and healthier plant growth.
How Does It Work?
The Adjustable Dripper is installed into lateral pipes or drip lines that carry water from the mainline of the irrigation system. Once the dripper is fixed, water flows through the small orifice inside the dripper. By turning the adjustable knob or cap, the user can control the size of the water outlet and, consequently, the flow rate.
It connects directly to 4mm micro tubing or is punched into 16mm/20mm lateral pipes.
The top cap is rotated to control the water pressure and flow rate. Fully opening the cap allows maximum flow, while tightening it restricts the flow.
Some models have pressure-compensating features to maintain a consistent flow rate across uneven terrain or fluctuating pressure conditions.
Water is delivered slowly at the base of the plant, allowing deep root penetration and minimizing evaporation and surface runoff.
